SLSD Canceling School Events, Gatherings, Field Trips

With the number of confirmed coronavirus COVID-19 cases in Oregon increasing, Governor Kate Brown announced new guidance regarding group gatherings and social distancing. We remain committed to keeping our schools open and safe. In accordance with this guidance and in order to minimize potential opportunities for the virus to spread, we will begin suspending events that bring large groups of students, adults, and community members together. This action is not related to an identified COVID-19 case. At this time, there are no cases identified in South Lane School District or in Lane County.

Information about the Coronavirus

As you are aware, a new strain of the novel coronaviruses, COVID-19, has been found in just a few people in Oregon. The State of Oregon, county health authorities and South Lane School District are all closely monitoring the situation. We are monitoring updates from the Oregon Health Authority and Lane County Health Department.

At this point in time, we are operating South Lane Schools as usual. We will notify you if we find it necessary to take more precautionary measures.

We need your input

The South Lane School District wants to hear from you on how to invest
our new funds from the Student Success Act (SSA). The primary goal of
the SSA is to improve outcomes for historically underserved or
underachieving students. We have generated a list of ideas but want your
input and solutions as well. Please join us next week for one of our
input sessions. Dec. 9th - 13th, 2019
Childcare, snacks, and translators will be provided.
